OFV-505/OFV-503 Standard Optic Sensor Head

Outstanding performance and reliability are key features of these new models. The completely new optical design of the OFV-505 and OFV-503 heads offers even better performance including exceptional optical sensitivity. The OFV-505 features autofocus and focus memory. Coupled to the new OFV-5000 modular vibrometer controller, the OFV-505/503 sensor heads take full advantage of the higher resolution processing of the OFV-5000 – digital as well as analog. OFV-505 and OFV-503 are at the heart of a range of universal and expandable non-contact vibrometer systems.

  • Practical, 'Point & Measure', easy to use
  • Low power, visible, Eye-Safe (Class 2) laser provides outstanding optical sensitivity (for example, measurement from matt black paper loudspeaker surfaces at >30 m)
  • Remote focus control, with 'Focus Memory' function (OFV-505):
Stepper motorized focusing can be made either manually at the head or via the OFV-5000 control panel. Focus positions can be saved and precisely recalled (only OFV-505). The focus position can also be locked.
  • Auto Focus:
The OFV-505 sensor head can auto-sense the return signal quality and automatically set the focus for an optimal signal
  • Expandability options:
The OFV-505 sensor and OFV-5000 controller can be upgraded to a full PSV-400 Polytec Scanning Vibrometer system

LSV 6000 Series
Precise speed and length measurements are critical for regulating and controlling the production processes in the steel and aluminum industry with its continuous or quasi-continuous production of slabs, bars, tubes and sheets. Harsh, hot and hostile fabrication environments significantly complicate measurements leaving only advanced non-contact measurement technology to provide the required precision and reliability.
Polytec`s Laser Surface Velocimeter LSV-6000 system uses proven laser Doppler technology to perform highly accurate non-contact speed and length measurements of moving surfaces in industrial production environments. The LSV measures the frequency shift of back-scattered laser light from a moving object to determine its velocity and length (Doppler Effect). The velocimeter system is composed of the LSV-6200 controller and a non-contact optical sensor head LSV-026.The system works on all types of materials, including rod, bar, tube, pipe, billets and slabs. Measurements can be performed on surfaces up to 1200 °C. For OEM applications or integration into sub-system a different sensor head, the LSV-065, which is itself a class IP65 housing, is available as a stand-alone component.

LSV Series 6000 System

The LSV Series 6000 system combines a sensor head, a controller and software into a rugged industrial package
designed specifically to measure velocity and length under the strenuous demands of mill environments.
